For the last three decades Canada has been not only dominating but defining wheelchair basketball globally. Beginning in the 1990s with the Canadian Women’s team, Canada took the sport of wheelchair basketball from a rehabilitation program to a high performance sport through a string of Paralympic Gold medals and World Championship wins.

In partnership with Wheelchair Basketball BC, We the West Basketball Festival brings together wheelchair athletes from across the country to compete in the inaugural 3X3 Coastal Clash Tournament in Victoria, BC—highlighting the outstanding athletic ability of Canadian wheelchair basketball.
